I grew up in the Madison suburb of Fitchburg, while going to school in Verona and on to college at UW-Stevens Point where I graduated in fall 2006. I’ve always known I could write well, but it wasn’t until recently that I looked at my writing abilities as a potential career.
I started out writing what is called “fan-fiction”, setting my stories in the universe of SyFy channel’s Sanctuary. In late summer of 2010, after coming to Tuesdays with Story for several months, an idea for my first original work came to mind. Set in modern Japan about “protection castles” where creatures of myth or humans with special abilities are housed, this work is called The Hogoshiro Chronicles and has occupied my efforts ever since.
I believe that without this group, I would not have been able to further my craft nor have come to “graduate” from fan-fiction to writing my own work.
